Dear Friend, After a few month of relative silence we are resuming the newsletter program which will keep you informed about our latest developments. This issue is meant to give you an overview on our 3DDivision’s main project - ECLIPSE. Here are the headlines: ECLIPSE - The 3D Game by 3D Division Our project, Eclipse, is constantly progressing. From the initial stages of pre-production - scenario and storyboard - the characters, ships, props and environments are beginning to take 3D shape and develop visual personality. We currently have almost all the necessary 3D models in several finalizing stages, and during the following months constant updates will try to reproduce the intro movie and the game look & feel. As we are also working on the cinematics, we will be able to publish test movies until the final assembling of the intro. ECLIPSE as a HL2 MOD ECLIPSE is intended to be a large game - just like Half-Life or similar games, mainly a shooter but also featuring quest elements & episodes; we will use the Valve engine which demonstrated so much potential with Half-Life 2; in a first phase we will create only a demo level developed as a Valve MOD, as well as the intro and the FMV's - meant to bring in more atmosphere to the game itself. ECLIPSE - INTRODUCTION A doomed planet, bound by an inexorable and predictable destiny... An impossible planet - one that should have never been born, yet still clinging to life... A ravaged planet, torn apart by the colossal energies of its gigantic neighbors - suns and planets which seemed to claim supremacy over the area but also over their precious satellite... Tensions beyond all belief and unknown forces clashed and merged within it, forging the most precious rock of the Universe - the Absolith, the magical ore defying all the laws of physics by nullifying gravity... read more ECLIPSE - Main Characters ENYO is a Tard (sort of goat). The Tards have been considered an inferior species for a long time and enslaved, being used for the hardest labors. Still they have never given up the fight for their land and freedom, and proved remarkable intellectual skills when peace allowed them to build civilization, developing their own system of knowledge and understanding of the world, based on strange secret sciences - in which meditation played a vital role. read more The Akkans were an abominable species who travelled throughout the galaxy, destroyed and spoiled any resources-rich planet with no concern for the inhabitant populations. read more ALYRA was born at the right time the prophecies had announced the coming of the UNIQUE. She was royal blood and a very promising warrior, but the prophecies were confusing afterwards: the Unique would have to prevail over himself/herself for 3 times before leading the Kalineeans in battle against the invaders. read more KYYYW.
